Travelers coming into the city of Joplin will soon be welcomed in a big way. The Joplin Visitor`s Bureau broke ground at the Joplin Regional Airport today on a new "Welcome to Joplin" sign. Additional signs will be placed at different locations in the city over the next few months. This is the first sign to be placed in Joplin and the airport was chosen as the opening site. Richard Huskey - Joplin Convention + Visitors Bureau "I think it`s beautiful. I think its` a beautiful sing, it`ll be nice. the logo is going to be adopted in other types of letterhead fro the CVB and hopefuly for other areas. So that it will have a theme on through out the city." Officials plan to build two more signs this year and three more the following year.
