Accidental East 7th Street Fire

Four-State firefighters battle an early morning blaze. Officials from Duenweg, Redings Mill and Carterville battled the blaze at Southwest Missouri truck on East 7th Street in the early morning hours. The building received heavy smoke and heat damage. Fire temperatures reached extreme levels and melted several of the structure`s crossbeams. Members of the Red Cross were contacted at to assist firefighters with liquids and other supplies. The state fire investigator was called to the scene for the investigation. The cause of the fire was determined to be a faulty furnace.
