Workers Compensation Insurance Violation

The owner of a southeast Kansas company agrees to pay fines involving fraud and abuse. The Kansas Department of Human Resources levied the fines against Ed Burlingame. Burlingame owns the Pride of Texas Shows based in Galena, Kansas. Investigators say the company was alleged to have intentionally failed to secure workers compensation insurance, and also failed to submit an accident report, without admitting any violation of law the company agreed to pay civil penalties of $20,000, and another fine of $250,000.
