7th Street Wreck Leaves Woman in Serious Condition

A 35-year-old woman is in serious condition after a car accident in Joplin early this morning. The accident occurred at 6:45 when Connie Chase struck a trash truck while traveling on 7th Street. Chase was driving westbound in a 1993 Nissan Altima. 58-year-old Charles Emmert was driving the trash truck, when it was struck from the rear while stopped in traffic. Chase was Mediflighted to Freeman Hospital and is listed in serious condition. No injuries have been reported for Emmert.
