Highway 71 Plans Scaled Back

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
One local roadway is getting more money to get their improvement project back on track. Senator Kit Bond was able to secure $6-million for the completion of Highway 71. The funds will be used to widen highway-71 from Pineville to the Arkansas state line. MoDOT officials say while the $6-million dollars was a good allocation, it was only a small part of the project`s $89-million dollar total price tag. But for the Elk River Ambulance Service, the road expansion will help them get their job done easier. Officials with the state transportation department recently scaled back construction plans.
