Trailer Fire Leaves Devastating Results

Seven people are killed when their trailer home goes in up in flames. The early morning fire near Bethpage Missouri in McDonald County started over the stove the family used to keep warm. Seven of the 13 members of this close-knit family were killed early this morning when their small trailer home burst into flames. The fire began when a pot on the stove caught fire. The Whitten and Garner families were using the stove to supply some heat to the home as temperatures dropped again last night. Four adults and three children were trapped in a bedroom where they had been sleeping when the fire spread down the hallway. One of the surviving adults ran to a neighbors house around 5:30 this morning to call for help. Unfortunately it was just too late. Three children ages three five and nine all died in the fire, they attended school in Rocky Comfort. To loose such a large number of people in any one family would be a tremendous loss. A fund to help pay for funeral costs has been set up in the Garner Family`s name. You can contribute by contacting the Arvest Bank in Anderson Missouri.
