Route 66 Music Festival Meeting

Updated: January 7, 2009
Jasper County officials are already working on ways to make the Route 66 Music Festival run more smoothly this year. Several county officials met this morning to discuss ways to improve mass gatherings, such as the Route 66 Festival. A mass gathering ordinance is in the works. The ordinance will specify what an organization needs to do in order to have a large gathering in Jasper County. Things like improving public safety and health and sanitation provisions were discussed. Last year`s Route 66 Music Festival`s large turn-out brought up the need for such an ordinance. Finishing touches are being put on the plan. It will then go to a public hearing for the county`s input.
