Sales taxes are going up in one Four State county. Voters in McDonald County Tuesday night gave the go ahead to a one half cent sales tax increase. The issue passed by a margin of 912 in favor compared to 670 against. The money will be used to help law enforcement in the county and will replace the existing county property tax. Also on the ballot, an issue that would make the county prosecutor a full time position. That measure was defeated, 922 against, to only 643 in favor. Both measures required only a simply majority for passage.
