Sentencing in Manslaughter Case

Updated: January 7, 2009
A Four State man is sentenced in the deaths of two teens. Closing arguments were made this morning in the manslaughter case of 19-year old Christopher Tomblin. Jurors then deliberated for more than two hours before handing down their final verdict. Tomblin was found guilty of two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of 17-year old Kelsey Richie and 16-year old Anna Iles. For that conviction, jurors sentenced Tomblin to six months in the Jasper County Detention Facility. Dankelson says although sentencing might appear lenient, no plea bargains were discussed among counsel and the final verdict is the sole decision of the jury.
