County Clerk Follow-Up

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
It may be another week before any action is taken to replace a local county clerk. Japser County Clerk Jim Lobbey passed away last weekend at his home in Carthage. Lobbey was preparing to seek re-election to the position. Governor Nob Holden has been notified of the death. Both the democratic and republican central committee`s will nominate a replacement to be submitted to the governor. Lobbey was a republican, however some experts say Governor Holden may chose a democrat to fill the remaining 11 months of Lbbey`s term. In the meantime deputy clerks have been named as acting clerks.
