Arrest Made After Man Assaults Officer

A Northeast Oklahoma resident is arrested for trying to assault a sheriff`s deputy. 39-year-old Raymond Swift of Afton was arrest Saturday at a home in Fairland. Sheriff`s deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Swift when he became violent following a brief scuffle, officers were able to take swift into custody. Swift is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer with intent to kill, along with several drug possession charges. He is being held in the Ottawa County Jail in Miami.
