Fatal Morning Accident on I-44

An accident Monday morning on I-44 near Sarcoxie leaves one person dead. St. John`s Med Flight, Sarcoxie Fire Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the accident. Officials say the driver of a truck lost control of his vehicle while driving in the westbound lane of I-44. He crossed the median and struck a semi traveling in the eastbound lane. The passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials are withholding the names of those involved in the accident until the families can be notified.
