Updated: January 7, 2009
Truck drivers will now carry less paperwork thanks to a streamlining of government red tape. Governor Bob Holden has merged four agencies currently serving motor carrier and railroad operators in Missouri. MoDOT will handle all the licensing and permit needs of commercial vehicles including tractor trailers, buses and limo`s drivers. In the past commercial vehicle operators had to visit four separate agencies in Jefferson City to acquire all their licensing and permit paperwork. The streamlining is projected to save Missourians as much as $3.8 million dollars.
