Governor Bob Holden also discussed the possibility of more budget cuts for the state of Missouri Friday. Holden urged senior citizens at the senior center to write their state legislators asking for the use of the Rainy Day Fund to balance the budget. $135 million dollars is needed. If the Rainy Day Fund is not used, the budget will have to be cut. This could affect state colleges, including Missouri Southern. Governor Bob Holden - D-Missouri "All of the universities got affected to some extent with the cuts, if we don`t have the use of the rainy day fund, unfortunately it will probably be cut significantly more." Other services that could be affected by the possible budget cuts include mental health services and senior citizens.
