Holden Discusses Prescription Drug Plan

Missouri Governor Bob Holden made a stop in Joplin today to discuss his prescription drug plan. Senior citizens at the Senior Center in Joplin enjoyed a hot lunch while visiting with Governor Holden. Holden says he will seek a federal waiver to expand the prescription drug coverage for Missouri seniors. The drug plan was approved during last fall`s special legislative session. It is estimated that 55,000 seniors will benefit from this plan. State Senator Marvin Singleton says the drug plan will stop seniors from having to make difficult decisions. Marvin Singleton - Mo State Senator "The individual had to make a choice between cutting their bills in half or taking them every other day and we don`t want the elderly particularly the vulnerable to make those choices." Holden also visited Neosho today for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
