Public safety is a concern for Joplin city leaders. A group of students from Missouri Southern State College appeared before the Joplin City Council Monday night. The students are asking council members to review crosswalks on Newman and Duquesne Road near the Southern Campus. The council agreed to appoint a committee to examine the safety issue. Several students have been injured at the crosswalk in the past year.
