By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Finding a replacement for Police Chief Ed Dennis remains a high priority for the city of Joplin. Dennis submitted his resignation a few weeks ago. Joplin City Manager Steve Lewis says he would like to name an acting police chief before Dennis` last day on March 15th. But Lewis says that person would not begin those duties until after Dennis is gone. In his resignation letter, Dennis said he hasn`t been able to spend enough time with family members outside the Four State area. Former police chief David Neibur and current assistant police chief Jim Hounschel have both expressed interested in the police chief position.
