Updated: January 7, 2009
Actions are taken to ensure safety at one Four State explosives plant. It`s been more than one month since the Kansas Division of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms learned of more than 5 million pounds of explosives at the Slurry plant in Cherokee County Kansas. Now, with the help of the US Military and county agencies, the ATF has begun moving the explosives out of Slurry and they are asking for your to help keep the area secure. That request for a burn ban was granted earlier today. Also, agents are standing by at the explosives plant and they are asking residents to avoid driving near the plant while the explosives are being moved.
