Former Police Chief Arraigned, Pleas Not Guilty

Updated: January 7, 2009
The former police chief of Duneweg appears in court for arraignment. Rick Marble entered a plea of not guilty to second-degree assault. The charge stems from a high-speed chase through Jasper County back in November. During the chase, Marble fired shots into the car of a fleeing suspect. Marble claims he did so because the occupant of the car, Jonathan Hopkins of Kansas city, tried to run him off the road. A pretrial motions hearing in the case is set for April 1st. The trial date is set for April 18th.
