East Newton Gun was for Hunting

A student from an area high school has been suspended after investigators say a rifle was found in his truck while it was on school grounds. A sixteen-year-old male student at East Newton High School was arrested earlier this week but has since been released. Investigators say the student claims he accidentally left the gun in the truck after hunting with it. But school officials say they received a tip earlier in the week that a student would bring a weapon to school. The student could face up to a year suspension for the alleged offense. He is currently serving a ten-day suspension.
