Soon to be former Police Cheif Ed Dennis could receive up to $14,000 in severance pay after the end of his duties this week. According to a statement issued by City Manager Steve Lewis, severance pay for Chief Ed Dennis will last for a maximum of ten weeks. But if Dennis finds employment during that time, payments will stop. Dennis will also receive nearly $5,000 for unused vacation time. After four years on the job, Cheif Ed Dennis announced his decision to leave the department last month, citing family reasons for his departure. He said he hoped to move closer to family members living in Chicago.
