A busy northeast Oklahoma highway is blocked after a fatal accident causes the nearby area to catch fire. The accident happened on Highway 69 just after 3:00 Wednesday afternoon, one mile south of the Kansas state line. A highway patrol officer was attempting to stop a red Camero. The driver of the Camero ran a stop sign at the crossroads of Highway 69 and was hit by a semi-truck. The Camero then exploded, killing the driver and setting the semi and the nearby area on fire. Both lanes of Highway 69 were blocked for several hours after the accident. It is still unknown why the driver of the Camero was running from the highway patrol officer.
