Disney, OK Councilman Arrested

A councilman in Disney, Oklahoma is arrested after officials say he chocked the town`s police chief. 68-year old Councilman Glynn Nowlin has been charged with assault and battery after an incident on March 1st. Officers say that when Nowlin was pulled over for driving erratically by Police Chief Thom Donnell, he made a death threat, then chocked the chief and grabbed for his gun. After the incident he was sent to the Grand Lake Mental Health Center in Afton. Nowlin says he grabbed the chief in self-defense. Charges were not filed in the case until yesterday afternoon. After the city council meeting Tuesday night, Nowlin was taken into custody. He was released today from the Mayes County Jail on $15,000 bond.
