Newton County Drug Bust

Officers evacuate a Newton County home after hazardous chemicals catch fire. The incident happened today at a home on Olathe Lane in Granby, Missouri while conducting a search for drugs inside the home. Sheriff`s deputies discovered a resident had thrown large amounts of chemicals into a wood stove. Due to the hazardous nature of the chemicals, officials were forced to evacuate the home. Several packets believed to be methamphetamine were found at the scene as well as the chemicals that were put in the fire. Two people were taken into custody at the scene. A 45-year old male has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance. A 42-year old female has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.
