Four-State officials approve safety measures at a local college, but say funding may be a problem. The Missouri Department of Transportation has given the go-ahead to install a red light at the Missouri Southern State College crosswalk on Newman Road. But MoDOT officials say money for the light is not currently available in their budget. The decision to install the light comes after many students and college officials complained that the crosswalk is dangerous for pedestrians. MoDOT officials agree that the light is necessary, but say they don`t have the 100-thousand dollars it will cost to install it. MoDOT officials say they are working with college officials to help find funding for the project.
