Updated: January 7, 2009
You will soon have a few more stops on Highway 71. Highway officials plan to put in three new traffic signals along a mile and a half stretch of Highway 71, which is about eight miles of Pineville. The signals are in anticipation of the new Wal-Mart that is being built in Pineville. One of the stoplights will be outside of the McDonald County area. According to MoDOT`s Kent Boyd, one of the stoplights will be in Arkansas. Arkansas doesn`t maintain stoplights, so Benton County will maintain the lights. Contracts for the new lights will be put out for bin in January 2003.
