Ribbon Cutting for New Park Benches

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Four State park visitors will now have a place to sit down and rest awhile. A ribbon cutting was held at the Campbell Parkway in Joplin to dedicate four brand new benches. The benches were donated by the Day Break Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club, the Exchange Club, and the Joplin Chamber of Commerce. The Rotary Club has worked for two years to coordinate the project. Mike Woolston - Rotary Club Member "Several members of the community have complained that there was no place to sit down here as they were walking. Many of the people who walk out here walk for their health some of those folks are on oxygen and when they tire, it`s important that they have a place to sit down. So this is a way we could bring several groups together." Each of the benches cost $500 and bears a plaque marking the date.
