The economy of a Four-State community takes a big hit as a Four-State manufacturer closes its doors. As KSN was first to tell you, Aaron`s Automotive Products in Joplin is closing its doors. The plant is transferring all of its production operations to the Springfield location. Vice President of Communications Mary Ryan says 250 people will be affected by the transfer. 245 of those people will be offered a position at the Springfield location, while 5 jobs are being eliminated. If employees decide not to transfer to Joplin, their employment will be terminated sometime in June. Joplin Chamber of Commerce President Rob OBrian says for those employees who decide not to transfer, the transfer, the employment outlook looks positive. Rob O`Brian - Chamber President "As the economy comes back up again, they`ll be looking for good people to work there, so it`s very likely people who want to stay in this area will find good employment here." Officials plan to begin the transfer at the end of May with the transfer of all production lines completed by August.
