Highway 59 Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Construction on a dangerous four-state highway will slow traffic this holiday weekend. Missouri highway-59 in McDonald County has been reduced to a one-lane road after a portion of the northbound lane started sliding into nearby Elk River. The southbound lane will remain open through the weekend. But on Monday, MoDOT will completely close the highway between Noel and Route EE. They expect the road to remain closed for at least three weeks. Officials have marked Highway-90 as the detour route. They discourage the use of Routes H, EE and DD.
