Students and officials at a Four-State college continue to look into ways to improve safety on the campus of Missouri Southern State College. Earlier this month, the Missouri Department of Transportation gave the go-ahead to install a red light at the student crosswalk located on Newman Road. But many say that`s not enough. And a light also is needed at the crossing on Duquesne Road. It is still being discussed who will pay for installation. A committee formed of students and teachers are currently discussing setting up a fund to help with the costs. School officials plan to have engineers place project bids for the project in the next 30 days. They say they hope to have the lights installed by the fall semester.
