A Four State man at large from Lawrence County Detention Facility is back in custody. The Barry County Sheriff`s Department says 19-year-old Israel Brown of Exeter, Missouri was captured just after one oclock near Madry Missouri. Brown escaped the Lawrence County facility in Mt. Vernon just after 7 oclock Tuesday night by kicking in a steel door leading to a visitor center. He then eluded police by escaping through a wooded area near the jail. Sheriff Doug Seneker believes Brown then stole a white Pontiac and attempted to return to Barry County. He was captured without a struggle by authorities in that county and returned to Lawrence County. Brown is being held on charges of 1st degree armed robbery, armed criminal action and stealing.
