Joplin Drowning Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The search for a joplin man who was the victim of another area drowing continues tonight. The incident happened last week when 62-year old Paul Stubblefield`s car was swept off of low water bridge in Joplin. Rescue workers continued searching for the body of Paul Stubblefield this afternoon after their search was temporarily suspended this weekend due to heavy rains and water conditions. St. John`s med flight helicopter aided in the recovery efforts this afternoon, searching the creek`s shore lines from the sky. Teams also headed out in boats to search the area between the low water bridge and the falls. Workers on the helicopter were able to search past the falls to the Kansas border, but so far there has been no sign of a body. Even though baracades now block the bridge, there still aren`t any signs to warn drivers of the trouble that lies ahead after the water rises.Police are still urging people not to even attempt driving across a flooded road or bridge.
