A growing concern for families is the issue of how to properly care for an elderly parent in their later years. Many families are choosing to carry the weight and become a caregiver. A retreat for these special people was held today at Missouri Southern State College. Family care providers had the opportunity to meet others who are in the same situation. Area hospitals gave out pamplets on how you can receive assistance and support in caring for a loved one. "The goal of this is to provide a day that people who give care of any kind to an older adult around have a time to get some inoformation pick up some tips that they can be helped in their role of caregiver, meet other people in their same boat. Just go away refreshed and renewed in their mind and spirit and body,"said Bev Scroggins of the Area Agency on Aging. To learn more about becoming a caregiver, you may call the Vantage Point at 627-0600. Reported By: Brad Douglas
