Updated: January 7, 2009
Hospitals across the country are starting to see an increase in the number of births since September 11th. Some doctors are calling it the Post Tramatic Sex Syndrome. Kevin McFarland has seen the effects of Post Tramatic Sex Syndrome first hand with the recent birth of his grand-daughter, Emma...and McFarland still has two more grandchildren on the way. McFarland said, "People are really starting to find home again, I think since September 11th I think a lot of people are coming back to the Christian values and family." Saint John`s Regional Medical Center in Joplin has seen a huge increase in births since this time last year. St. John`s Director of Maternal Child Services, Kathy Cowley says there has been a 44 percent increase in births compared to this time lsat year. Although Cowley attributes the increase in births to their new birthing center, she says isn`t ruling out other possibilites. Cowley said, "It might also be connected to people wanting to think about starting a family, things got really serious in September, maybe a lot of people were just snuggling, I don`t know." People are wanting to be with families again, getting married, childbirth, having babies, all goes together lets get back to basics lets get back to what we were placed here on earth to do...which is pro-create...and that theory seems to be proving itself at hospitals across the country. Proud grandpa, McFarland, is definatley one person who is excited about the recent baby boom in his family. McFarland says, "I think my daughter`s are some of the greatest girls in the world and it`s fun to stand back and watch the family grow the way it is McFarland has two more grandchildren on the way...one is due tomorrow and another in September.
