Four State Teen Will Remain Behind Bars

Updated: January 7, 2009
A four state teen will remain behind bars for the deaths of two area teens. A Jasper County judge overruled 19-year old Christopher Tomblin`s request for work release from the county jail for the remainder of his sentence. The Carthage teenager has only served 90-days of his one-year sentence. In February of this year, Tomblin was found guilty of two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with a fatal car accident in March of 2001. Seventeen year old Kelsey Richie and 16-year old Anna Iles died in that accident. Richie`s and Iles` families spoke to the judge as to why they feel Tomblin should not be granted work release. Both families were relieved with the judges decision not to grant tomblin`s request. Reported By: Jennifer Haile
