It`s a welcome home party you won`t want to miss. In January more than 110 military reservists from the four states were called to duty and stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. After six months of duty in Gitmo, at a high security prison for military detainees, the soliders are finally coming home.
The Joplin Chamer of Commerce is asking the community to join in the welcome home event.
The soldiers will be arriving at the Jopliin airport tomorrow morning about 7:45.
The terminal area is strictly reserved for relatives and close friends, so they can be the first to greet the heroes.
"As soon as they get out of the terminal, here`s the community, we have people comaing in from Neosho, Carthage, and other areas just to say welcome home, we`re proud of you,"said Kim Lester of the Joplin Chamber of Commerce.
Members of the community are asked to park on the side of the highway or on dennis weaver drive to avoid traffic jams. The chamber is also asking businesses to display welcome home signs on their marquees for the reservists.
