Several factory outlet stores are one step closer to moving into a four state community. A factory outlet shopping center consultant recently toured Lamar, Missouri as a part of a study to determine where outlet stores should be placed. Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Director Jasen Jones said President Harry S. Truman`s birthplace attracts a lot of tourists, making it a prime location for outlet shopping. Jones also says the potential of the outlet stores opening in lamar looks positive. Jones said, "It goes back to having a really good highway location and good foundation in tourism and really key market going from Kansas City to Branson, that`s where we look for 95% of our potential customers for this factory outlet center." The study is expected to be completed by the beginning of August. Reported By: Jennifer Haile
