A Four State investigation uncovers 28 violations by an area City Council. An investigation led by Cherokee County Sherrif Bob Creech has found that the Columbus City Council met illegally 28 times between May 30th and July 1st. The council is accused of violating Kansas` Open-Meeting law. That law requires the City Council to give public notifications of their meetings. Sherrif Creech says Council members met at each others homes as well as at local convience stores. The investigation was prompted by a request by the office of the Kansas Attorney General.
