Updated: January 7, 2009
An autopsy reveals the death of a four state child is a homicide. A four state man is arrested in connection with the death of a toddler. McDonald County authorities arrested 36-year old Michael Dean of rural Pineville late last night. Sheriff Robert Evenson says the arrest is in connection with the July 18th death of three year old Liberty Duncan. Authorities say Dean was the foster parent of the girl. Liberty died after being taken to a hospital after her caretakers said she fell off of a trampoline. Officials say the investigation proved the injuries to the child were not consistent with a fall. Autopsy results indicate Liberty suffered injuries to the head, burns and internal injuries to her heart, pancreas, and a lacerated liver. Dean is charged with abuse of a child, a class "A" felony. He is currently being held in the McDonald county jail on 150,000 dollars bond. Reported By: Courtney Cullor
