Updated: January 7, 2009
After a four state domestic dispute ended in tragedy, local women are speaking out about violence. Last Friday, officials say George White shot his wife and later took his own life. Wendy Angel, a vicitm of domestic abuse comments, "What happened this weekend, I don`t know the situation, but I can guess what was going on...she waited too late." The couple was in the process of a divorce. Now the Women`s Consumer Outreach Council and The Lafayette House are trying to send the message that there is help. The Lafeyette House is a shelter for abused women and children that offers counseling, and a place to stay. The Porter House is a branch of the Lafeyette House where women can stop by and talk to other battered women. Reported By: Sheradee Scott
