The November general election is still months away, but candidates are already on the campaign trail. Missouri U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan made a stop in Joplin today. Carnahan visited the Joplin community clinic to talk about her goals to improve Missouri health care. She is on a two day trip across Missouri promoting her freedom, faith and family bus tour. At the clinic she discussed passing a comprehensive prescription drug plan. Mrs. carnahan says she is looking forward to an interesting campaign against her republican opponent Jim Talent. "Certainly it`s going to be an active campaign. I intend to pursue it all across the state. We`re going 1500 miles today. Listening to people talking to people. Doing what Harry Truman did, and when he did that he connected with people. He connected with their hopes, with their hurt. When he did that he won and we intend to do the same,"said U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan, Senator Carnahan plans to stop in Kansas City for the next leg of her state-wide visit.
