A Missouri man is arrested for soliciting sex with an officer posing as a 13-year old girl on the internet. Diamond police have arrested 24 year old, Naveed Mughal of St. Joseph Missouri. He was arrested on charges of attempted statutory rape and sodomy. Officials say Mughal was soliciting sex on the internet to a Diamond police officer who was posing as a thirteen year old girl. He asked for the girl`s name, address, phone number, and if her parents worked, and said he would give her money and a cell phone in exchange for sex. He instructed her to meet him at the Diamond High School flag pole. When the suspect arrived he was immediately arrested. "In today`s society, just because we`re a small town, people need to be aware that this type of crime does happen." said Brian Misner, Diamond Police Chief. This is the second time this year this has happened in diamond.Last March, Diamond officials arrested a Blue Springs man for soliciting sex over the intenet with an officer he thought was a teenage girl.
