Missouri nursing homes could be facing some drastic budget cuts.
Missouri could potentially lose 37 million dollars in Medicare funds.
That means 11 hundred nurses aides could be out of a job. The decision depends on whether Congress restores medicare funding, which is set to run out at the end of September.
Workers at the Spring River Christian Village in Joplin are concerned about the long term care of their patients if the cuts happen.
"Simply it will impact the quality of care we`re able to offer. The programs the staffing, the quality of the food we buy. The quality of the activities that we offer. All those different kinds of things. Could be jeopardized over a long period of time,"said Rick Keller of the Spring River Christian Village.
Congress has until the end of September to make their decision about funding.
