Triple Arrest in Columbus, Kansas

An arrest in one four state community lands a man in jail on one million dollars bond. Kenneth M. Nelums of Picher, Oklahoma is being held in the Cherokee County, Kansas jail. He was arrested on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery, and Criminal Threat. Nelums was taken into custody at the Apple Glen Apartments in Columbus, Kansas. Lt. Gary Allen says, "While we were watching, a friend made the individuals aware we were watching, that comprised our surprise so we unfortunately had to make a rushed entry." Nelums was hiding under a bed while a young girl was sleeping above him when police made the arrest. The two individuals that warned Nelums of law officials prescence were also arrested. Daniel Hart of Galena, Kansas and Timothy O. Jung of Columbus, Kansas were taken into custody for obstruction of a legal process. All three men are being held at Cherokee County Jail.
