Police have another breakthrough in a two-year old murder investigation. A second man has been arrested in connection with the 19-99 murders of two Joplin residents. 29-year old Israel Ward was arrested in Tulsa late Wednesday night. Ward has been charged in four counts of a grand jury indictment. Authorities say one count charges Ward as a co-defendant in the murders of Joplin residents Paris Harbin and Chandy Plumb. Another count alleges he murdered both Harbin and Plumb. As you may remember...in december of 19-99 Paris Harbin and Chandy Plumb were found shot to death execution style in their Joplin home. Ward has also been indicted for two drug related charges. The indictment says drug trafficking was involved in the murders of Plumb and Harbin. Authorities say Ward is from Tulsa but lived in Joplin at the time the murders were committed. Ward has been charged along with Thomas "Mad Dog" Smith in the murders. Detectives say the crime may be linked to gang activity.Ward was scheduled to appear in court in Tulsa today. Reported By: Courtney Cullor
