Neosho Police Budget Cuts

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Neosho city workers are tightening their belts after a crunching of budget numbers. The city is not able to fill two open slots on the police force. The slow Neosho economey and failure of the sales tax are being targeted as a reason for the cut backs. The police force isn`t able to upgrade its cars which are approaching a hundred thousand miles each. "This year we`re budgeting very tight. We don`t have enough resources to go around for all the needs. So we`re looking at ways we can conserve and put the dollars where they are unfortunatly there`s not enough for the police department,"said Neosho Mayor Howard Birdsong The mayor also says the safety of neosho residents will not be affected, and the current officers on the force will help cover the two open postions with overtime hours.
