The trial of a Joplin man accused of second-degree murder is delayed. 41-year old Harold James of Joplin, is accused of stabbing to death, a neighbor before leaving the scene and holding a Capri Motel employee hostage, last year. James was scheduled to go to trial September 17th. But, the date was canceled because James is undergoing a mental evaluation. James` attorneys say he needs time for additional consultations with doctors. They also say more time is needed to take depositions of investigators and witnesses.
