breaking news
A long time area police official could be demoted. KSN`s Courtney Cullor was live in Columbus, Kansas where controversy`s brewing at city hall.
There are many topics on tonights city council agenda. But perhaps the most controversial is the fact that council members are taking under consideration demoting long time police officer Sergeant Bill Morris. Columbus Police Chief Tim Driscoll wants to take away Morris` stripes and apparently has asked the city council to demote Sergeant Bill Morris to a master police officer. Morris has filed a lawsuit against the city alleging that he has done nothing wrong in order to be demoted. Morris has been with the city police department for over 20 years and he also worked at the Cherokee County Sheriffs Department for a time. He has the support of many community members who are expected to help him in his battle to keep his strips. No one is able to talk tonight because of the possible litigation. But we`ll stay at the meeting tonight. And bring you an update on this situation tonight at 10:00pm.
