Updated: January 7, 2009
We are quickly approaching the cold and flu season, and local health workers say more people need to arm themselves against the seasonal sickness. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has lowered the age of people at high risk for contracting the flu from 65 years old, to 50. Officials say about 10 to 13 million adults between the ages of 50 and 64 have at lease one high-risk medical condition. Infact, every year... 20-thousand people die from the flu. The flu season in kansas usually peaks after the holidays in January and sometimes in March. Reported By:Brad Douglas
