Updated: January 7, 2009
A Four State father is charged with the murder of his son who died last September. This week the Carthage Police received toxicology reports from the autopsy of 11-month old Zarrin Doubet. After reviewing the report, police charged Dennis Doubet of Carthage with creation of a controlled substance as well as the second degree murder of his son. Doubet has been released from jail on 25-thousand dollars bond. At a press conference today officials released information regarding the child`s death. The toxicology report identifies Coleman fuel as the main toxin in the baby`s body although others were found. Police say this substance can be used to cook meth and was also found in a two liter soda bottle in the residence. Subsequent searches of the Doubet home and other buildings as well as munerous interviews led the police to believe doubet was making meth in an upstairs bedroom at the time of the incident. Two other children in the Doubet family were removed the same day as Zarrin`s death and were placed with the Department of Family Services. No charges have been filed against the mother at this time.
